Kirum Kampot Pepper, a star in France

For the second time, Confirel and its Kirum Kampot pepper participated in the International Pepper Festival, organized on June 29 and 30 in Rochecorbon in France by Terre Exotique, the French specialist in exceptional spices and peppers with more than 400 products listed .

Dr Hay Ly Eang, founder and CEO of Confirel, was invited to give a presentation on the history of Kampot pepper and of the company. “This event brought together more than 10,000 participants. Among peppers from all over the world - from Punjab, Cameroon, Madagascar , Congo, Nepal, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Ethiopia, India, Tasmania - it is undoubtedly our Kampot pepper Kirum who was the star of the Festival. I had the opportunity to explain the centuries-old history of our pepper as well as the production process which guarantees total traceability from our organic plantations in the IGP Kampot pepper area to the consumer, wherever they are in the world. world,” rejoiced Dr. Hay.

Kirum pepper was particularly appreciated by chefs Christophe Hay, who runs the Fleur de Loire hotel complex in Blois, two stars and one green star in the Michelin Guide, also chef of La Table d'à Côté, one Michelin star, and Franck Breton, chef of Les Arpents in Touraine.

“I took advantage of this Festival to introduce them to the “prahok and red pepper cheese” from Kampot that we have just developed and they were surprised and excited by this gastronomic innovation.”

The International Pepper Festival gives pride of place to peppers, berries, seeds and other wild follicles. The event is also an opportunity to highlight the initiatives of producers, artisans of taste, enthusiasts and scholars, who through their work nourish the mission of Terre Exotique: connecting civilizations and gastronomy.
